Internet was cut off from VFS Global, which receives visa
applications to France, because of the use of a virtual network without a
license, Algerian Internet and E-communications Control Authority said on
Sunday.
A statement of the Algerian IECAuthority said; “it should be clarified
that any use of a virtual private network “VPN” outside the regulatory
frameworks is considered a violation of the laws and regulations in force, and
therefore the user is required to declare and comply with the measures in
force”.
“The IECAuthority, by virtue of the laws and regulations that are
governing electronic
communications in Algeria, remains at the service of all
customers to study their files as soon as they are received as required by the
legislative and regulatory texts in force”.
The response of the Algerian IECAuthority came after
the French General Consulate in Algiers issued a statement on the suspension of
processing of visa application files after the interruption of the Internet
services of the VFS Global center in charge of processing the visa files of
Algerian applicants
